BRAKE PADS CL 2361S4 YAMAHA YZF R1 (RN126/127)(5VY) 1000 2006
Sintered compound for small-displacement road motorcycles
CL-Brakes is a brand of the Flertex group which, for over 60 years, has been producing and marketing friction materials for applications
multiple. Actively present in more than 25 countries, Flertex is committed to developing its international position by responding
to technical problems through its innovative and high-performance products, within the framework of the legislation in force.
The set of CL-Brakes pads (car, motorbike and bicycle) is manufactured in the historic Carbone Lorraine site, located in Gennevilliers (Paris)
The CL Brakes Motorcycle Brake Division has its own Research & Development department with its own test bench specifically dedicated to motorcycles.
It simulates as faithfully as possible the conditions of use of a motorbike during the various braking phases. The braking programs developed in close
collaboration with our top teams and drivers, allow us to develop simulation programs capable of reproducing, thanks to the help of sophisticated
data acquisition systems, the most diverse braking conditions. The new compounds are then physically processed by our engineers and subsequently
tested on the test bench. The validation of these compounds ends with a testing phase in real conditions.
We work constantly with all the means at our disposal so that our range of brake pads is always up to date and so that it responds as much as possible
possible to the needs of the pilots.
There are two types of motorcycle friction material: sintered
and organic. Only sintered material can fully satisfy the requirements
needs of a motorcycle: powerful braking, overheating, braking on
wet, mud and sand, reactivity at low temperatures. The tablets
brake made of sintered material are composed of powders. The material
of friction is composed of at least 10 ingredients (copper, bronze, iron,
ceramic, graphite, etc....) Each of these ingredients plays a part
essential during friction of the brake pad on the disc (comfort,
noise, performance). Once assembled, these ingredients form the
friction compound. The mixture is then compressed into a mold which
gives the final shape. This mix is then placed on top
a copper-colored metal plate and placed in an oven at 900°C.
This is the sintering process: each ingredient melts
with the other, consolidating the mix, thus creating the fixing to the support.
The pad is rectified, checked and packaged
