Marching soldiers produced by Lineol will have a square base with the name printed on the bottom.  If you see a square base without the Lineol name, the item has been produced by someone else.  If the Lineol printing on the bottom has holes, the item was produced before the end of WW2.  Those without the holes were produced after 1965 by Gert Duscha, a seller who obtained the rights for Lineol distribution.
