A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver pea whistle; an addition to our sports related silverware collection
DescriptionThis fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver pea whistle has a cylindrical chamber with a plain tapering mouthpiece.
The surface of the whistle is plain and unembellished, apart from the feature full and part hallmarks.
The interior of the whistle incorporates a 'pea' which moves in the air chamber; this allows the pitch to subtly and continuously change.
The bulbous end of the whistle is fitted with a plain ring loop attachment.
ConditionThis antique sterling silver whistle is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.
Full British hallmarks struck to the surface of the whistle and part hallmarks to the underside are very clear; the assay mark has wear but remains legible.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
