An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver salts; an addition to our silver cruet and condiment collection
DescriptionThese exceptional antique George III sterling silver salts have been realistically modelled in the form of a basket.
The surface these Georgian silver salts are each embellished with chased decoration replicating the details of the woven wicker basket.
The upper and lower rim of each basket is encompassed with an applied rope twist decorated border.
The body of each salt features a dividing partition ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved coronet to one side and an interlacing scrolling design to the other; this divider, in addition to the double skinned body, indicates the high quality of the piece.
Each salt is fitted with an impressive twisted silver handle, reflecting the ornamentation to the rim of the body.
These antique silver salts have a gilded interior.
