Fowlerware Mixing Bowl

This fantastic antique mixing bowl was produced by Australian pottery company Fowler.

This large and heavy mixing bowl is a great find.. made by Australian company Fowler in Sydney circa 1900's-1930's.  The ceramic bowl is salt glazed and decorated with a raised floral and beaded pattern.  It has seen quite a bit of wear over the years which only adds to the charm.  No chips or fractures! The bowl is stamped with a number 9 or 6? underneath. 

As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up.  The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time.

Condition:
Excellent antique condition commensurate for age (80 years+) and use.  Amazingly no chips, or fractures.  Some aged crazing, occasional spot, wear and minor discolouration with the crazing as expected.  Still presents very well... loads of character...

     Founded in Sydney by Enoch Fowler in the 1830's, Fowler Ware was the oldest commercial pottery in New South Wales.  The family run company produced building materials such as pipes, tiles etc for the growing city and domestic wares, many of which are still in use today.
