by Dorothy Macardle
New York: The Literary Guild of America, Inc., 1942.
Early reprint of this fantasy/ghost novel.
The Doubleday Doran First U.S. edition was issued in the same year.
Uniform age-toning to the endpapers, mild fading to the spine, else very good in blue-green cloth with gilt spine titles; in a fine tan homemade dust jacket with red titles (Macardle spelled incorrectly as Mccardle) all created by a former owner.
Originally released as UNEASY FREEHOLD from Peter Davies in 1941. Though the book was reprinted a number of times, and was successfully adapted to the big screen in a film still fondly remembered, the title is now quite uncommon in any edition.
