Strategy & Tactics #88

BOAR
The British Army of the Rhine
Central Front Series Volume 3

Central Front is a series of games using the same game-system, in which each game may be played individually or may be joined together with others in various configurations to create larger games. The games cover potential warfare in West Germany during the 1980's. The scale is 4km to a hex and 12 hours per turn. The game system is unique in that "losses" are measured in terms of Friction Points (FP's). FP's represent personnel and equipment losses, the expenditure of ammunition (particularly for artillery units) and fatigue. The removal of FP's from a unit represents the receipt of supply and replacements, and the accumulation of combat experience. The ability of units to have combat as a function of movement, plus the use of an "endless turn" (ending by mutual consent or the complete exhaustion of units) allows for very fluid play.
This edition of the Central Front Series includes the newest Second Edition Rules.  It contains two separate scenarios: "The Thin Red Line" is the campaign scenario, covering the first five days of the war in the BOAR sector. "The Race to the Weser" covers the first 60 hours of combat in the region between Hannover and Kassel.

This is good shape copy that may have a bit of shelf wear or staple rust. The cover has a bit of extra wear and folds.  The inside paper stock is slightly discolored from age. The counters are missing one strip of excess status markers (shown). The rules have a bit of extra wear and stains (shown). The issue is clean & unmarked. The game is unpunched and unplayed.
