 This stunning material features the highly coveted silvery iron pirite matrix, which really POPS in silver jewelry. We have to cut a LOT of this material to get a cabochon that looks like this!! This small collection is from our "MINERS CUT" Ithaca Peak Turquoise Material.  

 Ithaca Peak Turquoise comes from the Cerbat Mountains in Mohave County and is part of the Kingman mining operations. This INCREDIBLE variety of Turquoise ranges in color from a true light blue with a black spider-webbing to a deep rich blue with black matrix, quartz matrix, and pyrite inclusions.

While pyrite is also found in other types of turquoise, it will usually be more of a brassy colored in the Ithaca Peak material, which helps in differentiating it from similar stones like Morenci turquoise.

The highest grades of Ithaca Peak Turquoise are those with vibrant to dark blues and good pyrite inclusions present, and those with beautiful variations of blues with strong dark blue to black spider-webbing.
This Collection includes Gems with a high percentage of silvery iron pyrite matrix, and deep dense black spiderweb. This material was Mined in the 1950's, and is no longer available.
