This unread book is in VIRTUALLY PERFECT condition with no markings inside or out and no attached bookplates. The spine is VERY strong and tight. The satin ribbon bookmark is stiff and unfrayed. The corners are sharp and straight. The moiré end leaves are unfaded and pristine. The gold gilt is virtually flawless. Everything is bright and shiny. It still retains that fresh new book smell. An exemplary copy of this particular book by any measure. I've never personally seen this book in better condition, and there is no possibility it was ever read through. The amount of resistance to opening makes that clear. The leather is also highly-textured and seems almost decadent in its richness. I'd take this elegant edition from the Franklin Library over any of the multiple standard editions from the Easton Press any day... good thing I have another perfect one for myself!
