Le Nouveau Testament ( Evangiles Et Actes) edited by L. Cl. Fillion, published 1936 in Paris, Librarie Letouzey et Ane,, profusely illustrated with inter-textual drawings of Biblical scenes and information, 472 pages, plus table of contents in the back of the book

4 ¼ by 6 ¼ in medium brown cloth over board hard cover with handmade protective cover composed from uniform khaki and with thread outlined cross on the front.

Inside cover stamped with: Aumoneriedes Prisonniers de Guerre 2, rue Leneveux, Paris XIVe (Prisoners of War Chaplaincy and street address in Paris); inscribed: AK 518- 15 Septembre 1942.

There are two stamps, one on fly sheet and one on title page: Gepruft 23 Stalag VI D, censored by #23 for a POW camp located near the village of Matwy in Northern Poland.

There is a sepia toned 1st Communion card, probably of the owner of the bible, and found within the pages of the book and with 1930 name and date on reverse of card see photos #9-& 10.

Condition graded fair to very good; inside front cover is a bit loose at spine  and has been repaired with cello tape sometime in its history; the text is otherwise clean, fresh and unmarked, the protective cover shows a bit of light staining only and fits the book quite well: a collectible memento from the World War II era: a Prisoner of War's New Testament with handmade cover and original holy card.
