Betty Rubble (fictional character) - Betty Rubble is a fictional character in the television animated series The Flintstones and its spin-offs and live-action motion pictures. She is the black-haired wife of caveman Barney Rubble and the adoptive mother of Bamm-Bamm Rubble. Her best friend is her next-door neighbor Wilma Flintstone. Betty lives in the fictional prehistoric town of Bedrock, a world where dinosaurs coexist with cavepeople and the cavepeople enjoy primitive versions of modern conveniences such as telephones, automobiles and washing machines. Betty's personality was based on the stock character of the lead character's best friend's wife, commonly seen in 1950s television (other prominent examples including Trixie Norton of The Honeymooners , which by conflicting accounts was a major inspiration for The Flintstones , and Ethel Mertz of I Love Lucy ). Much like Trixie or Ethel, Betty spent a lot of her time socializing with Wilma, and the two would often end up working together to bail their husbands out of whatever scheme of Fred's had landed them in trouble, sometimes scheming with each other.

Joe Barbera (Animator/Director) - Joseph Roland Barbera ( bar-BERR- 0259 or BAR-b 0259r- 0259 ; Italian pronunciation: 00a0[bar 02c8b 025b 02d0ra]; March 24, 1911 2013 December 18, 2006) was an American animator, director, producer, storyboard artist, and cartoon artist, whose film and television cartoon characters entertained millions of fans worldwide for much of the 20th century. He was born to Italian immigrants in New York City, where he lived, attended college, and began his career through his young adult years. After working odd jobs and as a banker, Barbera joined Van Beuren Studios in 1932 and subsequently Terrytoons in 1936. In 1937, he moved to California and while working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Barbera met William Hanna. The two men began a collaboration that was at first best known for producing Tom and Jerry and live action/animated hybrid films. In 1957, after MGM dissolved their animation department, they co-founded Hanna-Barbera, which became the most successful television animation studio in the business, producing programs such as The Flintstones , Yogi Bear , Scooby-Doo , Top Cat , The Smurfs , Huckleberry Hound and The Jetsons . In 1967, Hanna-Barbera was sold to Taft Broadcasting for $12 00a0million, but Hanna and Barbera remained heads of the company until 1991. At that time, the studio was sold to Turner Broadcasting System, which in turn was merged with Time Warner, owners of Warner Bros., in 1996; Hanna and Barbera stayed on as advisors. Hanna and Barbera won seven Academy Awards and eight Emmy Awards. Their cartoon shows have become cultural icons, and their cartoon characters have appeared in other media such as films, books, and toys. Pia Zadora ( American actress and singer) - Pia Zadora (born May 4, 1953) is an American actress and singer. After working as a child actress on Broadway, in regional theater, and in the film Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964), she came to national attention in 1981, when following her starring role in the highly criticized Butterfly , she won a Golden Globe Award as New Star of the Year, while simultaneously winning the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress and the Worst New Star for the same performance. When in the 1980s Zadora's film career failed to achieve critical success, she switched her focus to music. As a singer Zadora has released several albums featuring popular standards, often backed by a symphonic orchestra. Compared to her acting, Zadora's musical career has received substantially better responses from critics.

During the 1930s, Hanna steadily gained skill and prominence while working on cartoons such as Captain and the Kids . In 1937, while working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Hanna met Joseph Barbera. The two men began a collaboration that was at first best known for producing Tom and Jerry . Wilma Flintstones (Fictional Character) - Brandon Tartikoff (January 13, 1949 2013 August 27, 1997) was an American television executive who was the president of NBC from 1980 to 1991. He was credited with turning around NBC's low prime time reputation with such hit series as Hill Street Blues , L.A. Law , Law & Order , ALF , Family Ties , The Cosby Show , Cheers , Seinfeld , The Golden Girls , Wings , Miami Vice , Knight Rider , The A-Team , Saved by the Bell , St. Elsewhere , and Night Court . Tartikoff also helped develop the 1984 sitcom Punky Brewster ; he named the title character after a girl he had a crush on in school. Punky Brewster's pet dog Brandon was named after Tartikoff.
