The star of ISHTAR is represented with eight points. One of the reasons why the 8-pointed star represents Venus is that the planet has an 8-year cycle, as 8 Earth years correspond to 13 Venusian years. Astronomically, every eight years Venus is simultaneously at the inferior juncture (closest point to the Earth) and at the maximum separation of the ecliptic (the plane of rotation of the Earth). On these days, Venus, which is rare, can be seen both in the morning and in the evening, on the same day (8 years x 365 days per year = 2920 - on Venus 13 years x 224 = 2912). In Islam, the 8-pointed star is called Rubʿal-Hizb, it looks like the overlap of two squares at 45 degrees, and is quite widespread, it is used to indicate the end of each chapter of the Koran. The same symbol is also found in India with the name of Star of Lakshmi, who is considered the Mother of the Universe, Devi of abundance, consort of Visnu.
The eight-pointed star is one of the fundamental symbols of the Goddess, of Ishtar, whose cult was widespread in the Mesopotamian area, but also of all the corresponding female divinities, such as Astarthe, Isis, Aphrodite and Venus. It was already known to the ancient Sumerian astronomers that this planet follows a cycle of phases whose duration corresponds to eight terrestrial years, and therefore the Octonario has become one of the attributes of the Goddess and of the Sacred Feminine.
