A fine and impressive vintage 0.96 carat emerald, 0.07 carat ruby and 0.78 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold RAF brooch; part of our collection of sweetheart brooches

Description

This stunning, fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.

The brooch has been modelled in the form of the Royal Air Force cap badge.

The central 'RAF' emblem is encompassed with a Queen's laurel wreath comprised of fourteen individually claw set marquise cut emeralds, totalling 0.96ct.

The wreath design is further embellished with two claw set tapering baguette cut diamonds to the nadir.

This central motif is flanked to either side with feathered wings ornamented with eighty-eight pavé set modern brilliant round cut diamonds.

The aforementioned wreath design is surmounted with the Queen's coronet, incorporating two impressive claw set round faceted cut rubies, totalling 0.07ct, in addition to six further modern brilliant round cut diamonds, completing the design.

The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clasp and benefits from a safety chain terminating with a bar brooch style clasp ornamented with twelve pavé set modern brilliant round cut diamonds in a linear formation.

This impressive gold RAF wings brooch with emeralds and rubies is hallmarked to the reverse with the maker's mark (KS) and the 18ct gold mark (750).

This impressive diamond brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.

'Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics.'
