Double - Top Entry Larsen Trap.

Our traps are hand built by us here in the UK, they are constructed with heavy gauge galvanised welded mesh to provide the highest levels of corrosion resistance.  The trap is extremely effective for the live capture of Magpies and Crows, they come fully assembled and are ready for immediate use.

How the trap works

Placed in the centre cage will be a decoy or live call bird which acts as a lure, the trap mechanism involves a spring door on each catching compartment, which are situated on either end of the cage. When set, the spring doors are held open by a split perch / break aways. Due to the territorial nature of the birds they will investigate, and attempt to intimide the call bird/ decoy into leaving, when landing on the split perch,the perch gives way, and the bird’s momentum takes it past the bottom of the door, which flips up and safely catches the bird.

It is very important to ensure that the call bird has adequate food and water, provided with shelter and checked at least once a day.
