***Remember that vintage sterling may have tarnish due to age. Some sterling charms that are marked as sterling, may be rhodium plated and may not test positive for sterling with an acid test (JSP). Rhodium was used to provide a protective layer over the sterling base metal in order to be tarnish resistant, have better scratch resistance, have a

brighter shine and enhance appearance.
