photos 1-2 show both, photos 3-9 show #1, 10-18 show number 2. I am NOT sure whether from series 1 or 2; compare with yours; advice regarding any differences appreciated. Jaguar factory numbers for lower padded rail and the plastic inner mirror panel are the same series 2 and 3. Glovebox Wood panel part numbers are not . Series 2 parts book shows Vanden Plas and non Vanden Plas, which are the same except burled veneer. Series 3 Part numbers show early and late as different part numbers, but that is probably veneer. The difference between Vanden Plas or non Vanden Plas is simply the veneer; which in Europe would be Daimler, not Vanden Plas. Buy burled veneer and you have a Vanden Plas. My suggestion? Buy quarter sheet of paperback veneer, and Xacto knife, roller, glue and refinishing material from Constantines Wood Supplies Fort Lauderdale, remove the old veneer. I used light elm burl on my own car, or use traditional dark walnut burl. it does not take the skill traditional veneer does, but once finished, on a flat surface looks as good as when it left the factory. If you pick a burl, it is equal to Vanden Plas. Standard cars had straight grain, Vanden Plas used burl. If you are overseas, you could have the veneer sent to me, I will ship them together. NOTE, If doing veneer it is best to do the whole dashboard, and put the joining seam in the center, then left and right halves will be mirror image, or book matched. I have manyXJ6, XJ12 parts, collected over 40 years, now moved to SEBRING,FLORIDA; . . Please give me your phone number for the box. Out of the US? Thank you, James Dean, thejaguru.
