SB, No date, no place.  The Life of George Washington....Vol. III by John Marshall with a signature, "Your obedt Servt J. Marshall" laid into the first end page.  There is a stamp of Curtis Cavendar on the title page and the book plate on the inside of the cover.  The front cover is disbound, there is some dampstaining to the first pages, wear to the leather covers.  

John Marshall (1755-1835).  Marshall was the fourth Chief Justice, serving for thirty-five years.  He oversaw landmark decisions such as Marbury v. Madison, McCulloch v. Maryland, Gibbons v. Ogden and the Dartmouth College case.
