Vintage TK Thuny Bohemia Czechoslovakia Large 14" Oval Serving Platter Daisies
This lovely item shows on white background on each of the four sides in different sizes daisy bouquets in vibrant colors. The daisies have light pink and grey bloom leaves and a yellow center. They are on green stems with green leaves with some eye catching blue décor on some of the leaves. The plates gold rim is age and use related faded on some spots which does not disturb the overall eye catching design.
The platter is marked on the back with a green, underglaze stamp "TK Thuny Czechoslovakia" and has the numbers 1350, 3 and 11 incised. TK Thun was founded in Kloesterle, Bohemia in 1794 by Franz Joseph Thun and J.N. Weber. This mark here was used by Thun/Thuny) Bohemia Czechoslovakia (since 1993 Czech Republic) from 1918 -1945 and then again in 1947. 1962 a different mark was registered. After our research we think the item is from c. 1940/50 but we can not give any warranties. TK Thun is still operating.
Other then the age and use related loss of gilding is the item in excellent used condition. No chips, no crazing, no cracks visible. Please check our pictures as they are part of the description.
