This is a solid silver Paris 1st Standard .950 (better than sterling, which is only 925/1000 parts pure silver) tray 1797-1809 by Abel-Etienne GIROUX. The mark AEG under a panache was used between 1798 and 1815. The first coq , and moyenne garantie (a face with 85 for Paris ) mark were used from 1787 to 1809. The greek woman’s head is the Association of Orfèvres mark used after the revolution. So the piece was made between 1798 and 1809. It has had a monogram or coat of arms removed. It is noticeable if you don’t polish it and it tarnishes it, but otherwise you don’t really notice.
