Mundesley Beach
There is something wonderfully Edwardian about Mundesley; it retains the power to suggest a vanished elegance, donkey rides along a sandy beach, sand castles and sea-side rock and the gentle sounds of music from the bandstand. In summer vast blue skies proclaim that this is holiday time and Mundesley offers sand, sea and relaxation.
The noted East Anglian poet William Cowper stayed in the High Street when he visited the coast, which he often did throughout his life. The religious and emotional upheavals he endured may have been made bearable by this splendid prospect.
