This is a neat, relatively uncommon, color post card sent from Gibeon, occupied German South West Africa, to Komgha, South Africa! It was mailed on May 22, 1916, to a Miss Hilda Batchelor, a sister, then living on Station Street! The message from the sender is quite interesting, as she mentions being in good health, but being a bit lonely as she didn't have any friends in the area!

To continue, as for the condition of the red, 1-d, unoverprinted South African definitive, outside of a pulled, left, top corner perf, and a slight crease in the top, right corner perf, it's in very good shape. The S.O.N. cancel from the Gibeon P.O, is excellent, but not complete, as it was place so close to the top of the card.

Lastly, as for the condition of the post card, it is relatively good for something over 107 years old. There is some light staining here and there on the back. There is some noticeable, wear and tear around the edges(best seen from the front), including 3 small tears in the top, and a significant crease in the top, right corner(from the front). The colors are still quite vibrant though, and the post card was actually printed when the Germans were still in control of Gibeon, as the German flag can be seen waving over the fort in the picture! Noted warts aside, this is a nifty piece of WW1-era, occupied German South West African postal history!
