This pretty, small size cup & saucer set was produced by established English company Empire Porcelain Co.
The set is decorated with the beautiful pattern Lilac Time. The pattern has sprays of lilacs and wildflowers on a green chintz background. The item is further embellished with gold trim to the rim, handle and foot.
Condition:
In generally good vintage condition commensurate for age and use. An occasional spot/mark... lovely colour and pattern, no chips, fractures or discolouration. Some typical crazing with some discolouration as expected, to the cups and noticeable to the interior. See photos for more detail... Gold trims all good with little wear... nice item!

The Empire Porcelain Company was established circa the late 1890s in Stoke-on-Trent, England. They produced earthenware and china mainly for the domestic market. In the 1920s-1930s the company introduced a range of Art Deco ornaments and vases with the classic drip glaze technique. Further decorative designs followed in the next decade, introducing Chintz and Cottage patterns. Acquisitions and mergers followed after World War 2 and the company ceased trading by the late 1960s.
