FORD CAPRI 1971 Official Ford Merchandise Print T-Shirt. Colour is Blue. Size is Adult Medium. PLEASE READ SIZE MEASUREMENTS BELOW. Period Style Print of a 1971 Ford Capri on the Front.

The Ford Capri was a fastback coupé built by Ford of Europe, designed by Philip T. Clark, who was also involved in the design of the Ford Mustang. It used the mechanical components from the Mk2 Ford Cortina and was intended as the European equivalent of the Ford Mustang. The Capri went on to be highly successful for Ford, selling nearly 1.9 million units in its lifetime.

The first generation of the Ford Capri (1969 – 1974) entered its design phase in 1965, a collaborative effort between Ford’s German and British divisions. The first car was completed in 1968, followed by a two-month production run prior to the official release date to ensure every Ford dealer forecourt had a Capri on show in time for its big debut.

In 1971, the Capri continued to be a popular model. One notable variant from this year was the Capri Vista Orange Special, which was launched in November 1971 and was based on the 1600 GT, and 2000 GT models. This model, like others in the Capri line, contributed to the car’s ongoing success.
