This attractive, color, Japanese post card of, "Godaito Island, Matsushima," was sent from Victoria, Hong Kong, to Ludlow, England, on March 19, 1910, by a sailor serving aboard the British armored cruiser, H.M.S. Minotaur then serving on the China Station! The writer mentions to the female addressee(a sister or girlfriend) that his ship will be cruising off towards Japan in about four days. He asks that she tell some friends of theirs to write. He also mentions that he thinks that sending the post card via Siberia, in care of the General Post Office in London, might be faster than the other route that he had been using.

To continue, the red, 4-Cent, Hong Kong definitive is in great shape! The S.O.N. CDS from the Victoria P.O. is pretty good, but was applied a bit lightly, or has faded some over the last 113 years.

Lastly, as for the post card, itself, it is in pretty good condition. It's pretty clean. There is some wear and tear on the card in the form of minor creases(mostly around the edges). The picture on the front remains very attractive for something approaching 110 years of age, though! All things considered, this post card is a neat, rare piece of British Naval postal history from a sailor serving aboard the H.M.S. Minotaur while it was in Hong Kong, China, in 1910!
