I'm selling over 600 + kinds of seeds ( and also live plants during the warmer months ) so check my other auctions .

You are bidding on about 25 SPOONLEAF SUNDEW SEEDS ( Drosera intermedia ) . You are getting whole stalks with about 5 pods on them , each pod has multiple seeds .

I've seen this species growing in water but prefers the edge of a pond . This species does not get big and the ones your getting will grow to about 1 1/2 - 2" inches tall when full grown . The sundew's leaves are covered with many sticky tentacles - when an insect lands on these tentacles, it gets stuck. As it struggles to escape, it gets covered with adhesive and digestive enzymes which eventually help to break down the insects body so that the plant can absorb nutrients it can't get from the nutrient-poor soil in which it grows.

Description - This little insectivorous plant is found growing in muddy edges of ponds, bogs and rivers, where the soil is peaty. After an insect has been caught, the glandular heads secrete a digestive fluid which dissolves all that can be absorbed from the insect.

While sundew tentacles often slowly fold over their prey, they are considered "passive fly-paper traps. They get small white flowers in the summer as seen in the photo .

Most people think they need a greenhouse to grow carnivorous plants. This may be true of pitcher plants but is not the case for sundews. While greenhouses cultivation is easy, many sundews remain small and are ideal for indoor plant growers with an eye for unique indoor plants. You must use distilled water or rain water only .
