A fantastic
catalogue for Tibetan coins from the very beginning of Tibetan coin minting in the 18th century to
the end in 1959.
This
catalogue is the most extensive and comprehensive available. On 261 pages all
coins are shown on colour plates with lots of varieties, errors, overprints,
Nepali coins for circulation in Tibet etc.
Language
is only in Chinese, nevertheless this catalogue is helpful to someone who
does not speak Chinese. One does not need to be able to read the Chinese texts
because there is a picture for every coin and one can figure out the date,
weight, size and the price even without knowing Chinese.
The weakest point of the book (due to the time that past since it's publication) is prices. Yin Zheng min and his book, by introducing Tibetan coins to the Chinese collectors community, was probably the originator of the enormous rise in prices Tibetan coins experienced since the publishing of this book.Still prices show the relations of value of the coins.
But given the constant quick rise in price of Tibetan coins NO book ever will tackle the problem of prices … there is other price finding tools like ebay, auction results etc.
A must for every Tibet collector!!!!!!!!
The book was never used but the edges show slight wear due to transport.
