Appearance - The "aurora red" orange-red or orange pink color is typical. It has good transparency and considerable luster. It is normally given a mixed, round, or oval cut. The weight does not normally exceed a few carats. Gems of about ten carats are extremely rare and usually of a typical, rather dark, unattractive color.
Distinctive features - The color, single refraction, and luster are useful means of identification, but the physical properties have to be measured to distinguish it, for instance, from some hessonite garnets. Examination of the absorption spectrum can be useful, where clearly visible, which is not always the case, it is distinctive.
Occurrence - Spessartite is extracted from the gem gravels of Ceylon and Burma. It is also found in the United States (Virginia and California), Brazil and Madagascar. More recently finds have been found in Namibia, and even more so in Tanzania where the luster and color are exceptional, the later has a yellowish tinge.

This would be for a gemstone that is completely clean to the eye, but not necessary at 10x magnification. |
This is for our gemstone that have very, very little Visible (inclusions, seen) mostly from a side angle. |
This would be for inclusions only slightly visible on close inspection, small internal crystals, but not serious at all in plain view. |
This clarity grading will show some visible inclusions, they would not over power the light or color in the gemstone, but are visible. |
Inclusions are visible, they hinder the color and light reflection to varying extents. |
