This hat is authentic and is what the British Royal Guardsman used to guard Buckingham Palace from the 1950s to the 1970s. It is made of genuine bearskin and has a bamboo-like internal frame (see pic).

All of the War Medals and hats in this auction were taken to The Tin Soldier, at 222 Vernon Street in Downtown Roseville, for authentication. The Tin Soldier has been in the war memorabilia business for 33 years and is well qualified to authenticate items like this.
