Sterling Silver Teapot by Elkington & Co - George I Style - Vintage (1965)

Description

This exceptional Elizabeth II English sterling silver teapot has a plain oval rounded form onto an oval domed spreading foot, in the classic George I style.

The surface of this vintage silver teapot is plain and unembellished with applied moulded decoration to the rim.

This vintage teapot is fitted with a plain hinged domed hallmarked cover surmounted with an impressive sterling silver rounded urn style finial.

This mid century silver teapot retains the original opposing scroll, carved pear wood handle with a scrolling sterling silver lower terminal, in addition to large leaf motif to the upper socket in junction with the body.

The impressive swan necked spout features a plain plateau to the upper portion of the lip and features a paralleling moulded tiered border to the socket.

This exceptional example of antique teaware bears the same hallmark credentials and is crafted in the same style as the sterling silver café au lait set A5510; they would all sit very well together.

Condition

This vintage silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the teapot and part hallmarks to the rim of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
