The legendary Caliber 33.3 was produced by Omega for almost 20 years, but all in all, the numbers produced were low. It served as the precursor to one of the most honored movements of all time, the Omega Caliber 321, the movement that powered the famous Moonwatch and was used in the Apollo moonwalks.
Not only the connection to one of the most famous chronograph calibers of all times certainly makes the cal. 33.3 interesting from a collector's point of view, but also the qualitative accuracy and precision of the movement. These luxury Omega sports chronographs were equipped with colorful scales that could indicate speed, distance and frequency.
Rarely seen in a dial variant like this.

A fine example of a success story - with this model Omega, the undisputed master of historical chronographs, has succeeded in delighting lovers of fine craftsmanship all over the world. This fantastic timepiece demonstrates Omega's incredible expertise in the manufacture of chronograph wristwatches. The 37.5-millimeter case is very large for the time and is further accentuated by the three-dimensional, angled lugs. It is particularly impressive that Omega had the vision to create such a large and advanced looking watch in the late 1930s. To sum up, this Omega sports chronograph is the ancestor of an icon. It is an exceptionally large Chronograph for its time of manufacture. And it is the intricate, colorful dial variations that make the watches of this caliber 33.3 extremely desirable!
