Rare Ancient Egyptian Antique The Beautiful Queen Tiye Statue BC The Elder Lady Pharaonic

Tiye, A Queen Story

Tiye (c. 1398 BC – 1338 BC, also spelled Tye, Taia, Tiy and Tiyi) was the Great Royal Wife of the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III, mother of pharaoh Akhenaten and grandmother of pharaoh Tutankhamun; her parents were Yuya and Thuya. In 2010, DNA analysis confirmed her as the mummy known as "The Elder Lady" found in the tomb of Amenhotep II (KV35) in 1898.

The mummy of Queen "Tiye" was found next to two mummies in a side room of the tomb of King Amenhotep II by archaeologist Victor Loret in 1898 AD, and it was not known at the time that the mummy belonged to Queen Tiye. In 2010, Dr. Zahi Hawass analyzed the DNA and succeeded in officially identifying the old lady as Queen Tiye, as the hair strands found inside Tutankhamun’s tomb were identical to the DNA of Queen Tiye's mummy.

Beautiful Hair After Thousands of Years

On the sidelines of the procession transporting the royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum to the Museum of Civilization, Egyptian social media pages witnessed extensive discussions about the hair of the mummy of Queen Tiye, as many expressed their astonishment at the condition of her hair despite the passage of thousands of years.

Queen Tiye’s hair remains as it is after thousands of years as mummy was subjected to a high-precision mummification process because it was “royal,” and therefore the hair had a share of this high-quality care, which caused it to remain in this state despite the passage of time.

The Statue is made of stone. Its height is 6.6 Inches and as shown in photos.
