This relatively rare, post card of Beirut Port was sent as printed matter from a French Army P.O. in Beyrouth(Ottoman Empire), to Toulon, France, on January 3, 1913. The addressee, a Mr. Germain Lafond, was also in the French military, possibly the French Navy, as Toulon has long been home to an important French Naval base!

To continue, outside of some minor toning around some of its perfs, the green, 5-Centimes definitive for use in French Post Offices in The Levant, is excellent condition! The S.O.N., "Corps D' Armees," cancel on it, is gorgeous, though incomplete at the top due to how it was placed on the stamp.

Lastly, as for the condition of the post card itself, it does have some minor stains on the back, and some wear and tear in some places around its edges. Despite these imperfections, the item remains an attractive, great example of mail from the French Army Post Office in Beyrouth!
