Serov (1865-1911) is an important Russian artist linking 2 periods in Russian painting. This is a handsome, well produced and designed book with fine color reproductions. An artist not generally well known and in viewing his works, also seeing a history of Russia in this time frame and in a few paintings, a bit of history.
