Semi Antique Amazing Tribal Caucasian Hand Knotted Wool Area Rug. Beautiful collectible famous authentic wool rug. Good condition for its age, no repairs, no bare spaces, no cuts, clean. Might have some light normal wear to pile due to age. Light abarsh - natural and variable change in color that occurs in an Oriental rug over time when different dyes are used. Leather straps were installed on on the sides of the rug on the reverse. It is costly handmade process, which adds to value of the rug. The leather straps will prevent rug from curling/becoming misshaped over the time. We took phtos from both sides of the rug. Please scroll down for more photos and detailed description of the rug.

Every hand knotted rug has "light" and "dark" side. The color difference is due to how you view the rug's nap. Depending on whether you look into the nap or with the nap, the rug will look lighter or darker and the color intensity you see from one end of the rug may be different from what you see on the opposite end.This phenomenon is a result of the weaving process. As each knot is hand-tied and pulled down, a directional is created in the pile, with the nap fibers always pointing toward the bottom of the rug as it hangs in the loom. Once you have your rug in your home, examine it closely from both ends, as you may wish to turn it 180-degrees to ensure the best possible effect for the room it is in.
