AUDIE YAZZIE Vintage Turquoise Bead "BEAR FETISH" NECKLACE

Hand Strung in 1979, Master Navajo Lapidarist AUDIE YAZZIE HAND CUT these extraordinary fossilized turquoise beads and created an entire TREASURE Necklace filled with fluted, hand stamped, melon sterling silver "Navajo Pearl" Beads. Placed directly over the Heart, is a Magnificent, Hand Carved Zuni Bear Fetish (a Heartline Fetish) as they are known. The beads are long and sumptous and will MOVE with your body.  The entire necklace has been painstakingly size and color graded into strands, and intersperced with those rare Turquoise beads.
This necklace is unusual in that it is extra long, nearly twice as long as most pueblo necklaces, measuring in at 34 inches.

Audie Squaw wrapped the necklace for extra comfort and "Signed" it with his signature (Back Center Bead), Before he had his own Signature stamp around 1980, he would "Sign" his pieces with these special beads. This necklace features BOTH types of signatures. (One Signed sterling silver plaque and the signature bead in the back).

.  In nearly PRISTINE Condition, the necklace was held in an EAST COAST Vault for much of the last 43+ Years. Even the cotton twine is still a light ivory. This is an Incredible Family heirloom and Collectors piece for your Native American Jewelry Collection!
