This exquisite box is crafted by Mexican artist Enrique Zavalla, who is featured in the Art Museum of San Antonio. It is a fine example from his early years.

The box is made of bronze that has acquired a deep patina. Its intricate design is accomplished by appointments of brass depicting a beautiful mermaid accompanied by guardian fish. The box is handmade and features a leather lining of pig skin suede dyed to a rich shade of burgandy.

The item originates from the design areas of the state of Jalisco in Mexico. The artist's signature is engraved, adding to its authenticity. This box is a must-have for any Zavala collector.

We will leave any cleaning to the new owner's discretion.

Size  4 3/4 x 3 1/2

NOTICE: There is a small dent in the upper right portion of the lid. See photos. The box is not very photogenic. It looks much darker and cleaner in reality. We do accept returns.
