This year Walsall took over the printing of all Counter Sheets, one visual physical change in the stamp was the gap in the Security Tab, whereas DLR was very small like a dot (Type 2a), Walsall's are much wider and are classed as Type 2. A new anomaly also came to light in the form of Fluorescent & Phosphor Contamination, under a certain type of Short Wave Lamp three effects were able to be seen, Yellow Iridescent contamination (YI), Yellow Phosphor Reaction (YP) and the normal Blue Phosphor. With some values the normal Phosphor reaction to UV can vary in strength ranging from a Dull to Semi-Bright, these are seen more in the NVI stamps but this has been also found in 10p & 20p Values. Some Values have more than one example of these effects with the same printing date. What seems to be consistent is in the (YI) stamps which are very distinguishable under the SW Lamp, although the degree of contamination can vary, ranging from Light, Medium to Heavy yellow speckles, the more speckles the better the effect. These are seen in the print of the Queen's Head. The cause of this contamination may be due to a chemical added in error to the ink, unfortunatley no explanation has been given by Walsall to verify this.
