Here we have a complete set of the works of Shakespeare,  undated but thought to be from the 1880s. With gilt edging on all sides and black and white illustrations throughout including many full page portraits, by Kenny Meadows.

Medium condition:

The blue cloth boards are sound  but with quite a few marks as can be see, general rubbing to edges and particular fading/aging to volume 5.

There is slight looseness inside the boards of Volumes 1, 4 and  5 otherwise  sound throughout except the centre page section is completely loose from volume 2  – ‘ As you like it ‘ – see photo.

There is some browning or light spotting to the fly leaves, otherwise generally very good inside, mostly clear and clean with the odd mark here and there, light browning to edges and there is browning to some of the centre joins – see photo.
