This heirloom design is a hinged locket box pendant with a photo ring, style # 695 of our online design selection catalog. You may choose the approximate size in a custom order. The face of the box can be any array of gems that you like from a ‘plain Jane’ to an elegantly well dressed look. This piece has an oval shape and has an oval shaped center gem that is securely mounted with a full bezel. The remainder of the face is covered in a halo of accents around the outside of the bezel. The front tip has two ridges for simple opening by one’s fingernails. Inside is a separate ring that will hold a photo in place on the back side of the interior. The fit at the rim is tight enough to securely hold the box closed while being worn. The bail allows the locket to dangle.
The main gemstone is a natural Burma Jadeite Jade untreated cabochon measuring 30 x 24 mm and weighing 37.55 carat. The halo is made from 32 pieces of 2.7 mm expertly faceted rounds of White Sapphire from Ceylon.
Our Sterling silver is made by melting down fine silver and pure copper to create an ingot of 93% silver alloy. Consequentially our alloys are a little on the rich side of .925 Sterling. Copper alone is the remaining 7%, no base metal is used.
This handcrafted piece weighs a hefty 42 grams, not light or dainty! On the outside the box measures 43 x 40 x 13.5 mm, a large size.
All of our jewelry is made with the old fashioned hand hammered technique. We start by alloying an ingot then proceed with hammering, rolling, filing, sawing, soldering, drilling, sanding and polishing. We do not sell castings and never use glue in our heirloom quality jewelry.
