About Cha-Oogi

This fan is called a "cha-oogi” in the tea ceremony.

The cha-oogi is not used as a fan. It is mainly used for greeting people. The cha-oogi is placed horizontally in front of the knees. This will be the boundary between you and me. And it is an action to show respect to the other person.

If you are not a tea ceremony person, using it as an ornament is a good idea. In Japan, Sensu fan means "the future will spread" when it is spread out. It is a very auspicious item.
