This fine Victorian pierced sterling silver basket is in good original condition.The fine piercing around the rim has good detailed stylised floral repousse decoration.

The base of the fine basket is clearly and crisply hallmarked for London 1896 next to the makers mark WC for William Comyns. William Comyns traded from 1858 to the 1930s. He started trading from Soho, London and rapidly expanded to prestigious premises in Regent Street, London. 

William Comyns was a well respected and very talented silversmith. This fine basket measures 14cms in length by 11cms in width. The height is 3cms. The total weight of sterling silver is 70 grams.
