I met the owner and founder of Brazil ROXX back in 2008 shortly after I moved from Minnesota to Texas. Back then, this brilliantly creative Brazilian woman split her time between her manufacturing plant in Brazil and her home-based sales showroom in the DFW area. I was invited to a private sale by one of her closest friends and for over two hours I got a once in a lifetime experience of trying on and purchasing inventory from the owner’s exceptional home studio showroom.

I was like Willy Wonka with a Golden Ticket—and then some!

Back then, I was much thinner (sigh) and I went crazy buying embellished jeans and unique handcrafted jackets. (I was also going through an unexpected and painful divorce, so my filter for buying on a budget was almost non-existent.)

One of the most exquisite purchases I made that day was a stunning jacket that has become a true RARE collector’s item insofar as the Brazil ROXX line of apparel. Very few of these were made.

Good luck finding this jacket anywhere—online or in private sales. When I say RARE, I mean really (really) RARE.

I didn’t wear this jacket often, it wasn’t a daily wardrobe staple. I saved it for special occasions. I once wore this unique jacket on a book tour TV appearance (on a major network) and the host of the show was mesmerized by it. In fact, she offered me a lot of money for it, but I wasn’t ready to let it go—not then.

It’s such an unusual apparel item that people always commented on it. I used to have so much fun asking folks what they thought the primary material was because no one ever guessed it. And I mean that—no one. It became a point of delightful conversation—with folks doing their best to figure it out.

We all know how expensive apparel and accessory items are in alligator, ostrich, and snake. But what do we know about fish leather? Yes, you heard me right. The Brazil ROXX Jacket listed here is handcrafted Tilapia Fish Leather.

Brazil ROXX clothing are works of art, and this is especially true with this RARE jacket. Handcrafted of Tilapia fish leather, suede, and stretch denim, and further embellished with brass flat and round headed studs, blue embroidered stitching, and the signature XX embossed brass buttons. It is exceptionally constructed.

This magnificent jacket is the definition of embellished opulence, in a fun, funky, and fantastic way! Don't wear this unless you are ready to attract attention.

It is a size MEDIUM and made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex. The measurements are:

16” = Waist (at Center Button)

16” = Shoulder to Shoulder

18” = Armpit to Armpit

24” = Collar to Hem

19” = Length of Sleeve – Armpit to Sleeve End

24” = Length of Sleeve – Shoulder to Sleeve End

The use of fish skin as a product for leather manufacturing is steadily increasing in many countries. Tilapia and Pirarucu are excellent examples. Depending on the natural structure of the fish skin, once transformed into leather, the product is aesthetically elegant. The finished fish leather product, when combined with knowledgeable craftsmanship, has significant artistic potential.

This EXTREMELY RARE Brazil ROXX treasure comes from a pet-free, smoke-free home and has been hanging in my closet under a protective shroud of breathable cotton for over a decade. Now, it’s time to let it go.

Will it be going to your home?
