 What is a ranma?
Ranma is the general term for fixtures installed between the ceiling and the entrance of a house. Its history dates back to the Nara period (710-794), and it has been used in common people's houses since the Edo period (1603-1868).
This is a very beautiful carved ranma with some stains, scuffs and scratches as it is an antique item.
