Blade - Has at least 266 layers with some surpassing that mark by several layers. It is made by blending of 1084 high carbon steel and WS1mild steel resulting in a Rockwell hardness of between 52-58. This gives it durability and ability to hold a fine edge. Blade is sharp and has a good fit into the nice suede scabbard.
Handle - Made of walnut wood. The filigree of solid brass and carbon steel.
It
is important to remember not to store your Damascus Knife in its
leather sheath. Leather is a medium for moisture and humidity which can
cause the high & low carbon steels to tarnish and rust. Oil your Damascus Blade from time to time.
