Pastel, also known as "soft color", is a variety of overglaze color. The so-called overglaze color refers to the color painting on the glazed surface of the fired plain ware, and then baking at 600 ℃ to 900 ℃ in the kiln.
The painting method of pastel porcelain is generally as follows: first draw the outline of the pattern on the white porcelain fired at high temperature, then use arsenic containing glass white as the base, then apply the pigment on the glass white layer, and gently wash the color according to the different needs of the depth with a clean pen, so that the petals and people's clothes have a sense of light and dark.
