** Staining/discoloration to some front squares and areas on the backing; Fading of some signatures seen; A few small holes noted **

For sale is an antique, late 19th century, hand-tied quilt with most of the signatures/autographs being from the Massachusetts area (Salem and Beverley were some noted cities) with some others being from states such as New Hampshire. The backing is NOT original and appears to have been machine stitched on the original portion. Some staining to the reverse noted and some of the front squares (pictured). There are approximately 84 signatures in ink located within the quilt (on the muslin strips). Unknown age of the backing as well as unknown if the original backing is still present or was removed when the new backing was put on. Some of the signatures have faded more than others. Has NOT been cleaned since our ownership. A truly unique, one of a kind piece!
