Mego was founded in 1954 by D. David Abrams and Madeline Abrams. The company thrived in the 1950s and early 1960s as an importer of dime store toys until the rising cost of newspaper advertising forced Mego to change its business model.

This baby clown is a surviving example of one of Mego’s earliest toys. Presumed to be one of the first dime store toy items manufactured during the 1950’s.

It’s remarkably still in its original Mego marked bag as well as securely sealed with pink factory plastic tie. Truly an amazing piece.

The baby clown itself is in excellent condition. He shows no damage or soiling.

The bag is entirely intact with NO holes, rips, or damage.

This is an extremely rare early Mego item, and is not even depicted in the Mego toy identification guidebook.

This is an item that I can insure you’ll never see one again.

Great item for the advanced toy collector.

Because of this items extreme rarity there is not much ‘market value’ reference.

I’ve priced the item appropriately with a 100$ opening bid.
