The story of a media institution, which started in 1819 as a provincial local paper in Manchester, and rose to become one of the stalwarts of the modern Fleet Street scene. The history of THE MANCHESTER GUARDIAN, more recently known as THE GUARDIAN, and of the two families, the Taylors and the Scotts who dominated the paper from its foundation.

Appeared first in the Centenary number of The Manchester Guardian, May 5,1921.

Book in good condition. Book is a very respectable ex-reference library copy in original publishers boards with a couple of inkstamps and code to spine. Lower and outer page edges are uncut and there is some spotting throughout.
