Description

This exceptional and rare antique George III sterling silver sucket fork has a plain oval form.

The oval spoon bowl is conjoined to a three-tined fork via a narrow stem, ornamented with plain shoulders.

The surface of the bowl is embellished with the later engraved inscription 'Birdie 1891'.

The reverse of this antique silver sucket fork features a rounded heel to the spoon's bowl.

This exceptional sucket fork was crafted by the renowned flatware makers George Smith (III) & William Fearn.

* A sucket fork is a small utensil used for eating sucket or sweetmeats.

Condition

This antique silver sucket fork is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the stem are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique cutlery.
