Carved Wooden Bali 3D Panel

A profusely carved 3D wooden panel from Bali.  It is a vintage example and likely dating to the 1970's.  It features a scene from the story of the stork & the crab from the Panchatantra.  This is a moralistic tale of excess greed dating back as far as 300 BCE and being incorporated in traditional tales around the region.  From the Indonesian region it is known as Tantri Kamandaka.

As you can see the carving is quite beautifully done and appears to be carved from a single plank.  A great decorative item which will free stand or can be hung as required.

Condition

Some damage and losses to top right corner with two leaves re-glued.  Some losses around the base with chips to the edge.
